On March 17, at the twenty-fourth plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Law on Cybersecurity was adopted.
The Law consists of 8 chapters and 40 articles, which set out the goals, objectives of the Law, basic concepts, principles, directions, methods for preventing and combating cybercrime, the responsible state body and its powers, taking action on cybersecurity incidents, as well as issues of international cooperation.
The State Security Service is defined as the authorized state body in the field of cybersecurity and its rights and obligations are enshrined in the document.
The law regulates relations in the field of cybersecurity in the republic, the main tasks of which are to protect the interests of the individual, society and the state in cyberspace from external and internal threats.
The Law specifies the concepts of cybercrime, cyberthreat, cybersecurity, cyberdefense and cyberattack, defines the basic principles for ensuring cybersecurity and the main directions of state policy in this area.
The rights and obligations of cybersecurity subjects are defined, their mandatory examination for compliance with cybersecurity requirements or on the initiative of cybersecurity subjects is determined.
Measures aimed at investigating cybercrime incidents, their prevention and disclosure of information about incidents are shown.
